A New Direction

So I started Network Administrator courses in January 2008, I didnt know what that was, but was just diving in. There were two other women in the class, the rest were all "men", they acted like boys for the most part...and they looked at me and treated me like I was dumb. I had a lot to prove. So I worked hard and studied A LOT!!! And it came time to take the first certification test. The class star was the first to take the test and he passed with flying colors. The instructor offered us extra vouchers if we took our tests that week...So I took the chance, and to my surprise I was the only one that did. I took the test and passed and got the same score as the class star. The kid in front of me said "if she can pass it, then I can" Naturally I was insulted and told him so...Well the next class came and he took the test and FAILED!!!! Sigh...that felt good...LOL. Things turned around quickly after that and I gained these dorky guys approval.  So SIX months of training go by with more debt but more skills and confidence.
MEANWHILE, at my current job in medical billing a supervisor position opened up. After Hemming and Hawing I decided to go for it. My husband said something once and it helped me through a lot of things. If the only thing stopping you is fear, then thats not a good reason and you should go for it. So I did...and I got the position. So now Im a supervisor. Then the last day of class, one of the class interns tells me he has a job available for me at his company!!! So I can stay and work my way up in Medical Billing OR go for the entry level position in IT...ANOTHER DECISION!!!!
